Peachtree Quantum has increased database capacity to easily accommodate companies with large transaction volumes, as well as help manage customer, vendor, and inventory data.
The size of your database can be a critical indicator that a more advanced accounting solution may be beneficial. Operating with accounting software that is not optimal for your company could be holding your business back by limiting employee productivity and running at less than peak efficiency.
Follow the steps below to determine your database size. If it?s over 100,000 KB, we recommend you call us as soon as possible. A Peachtree Representative will be able to tell you what actions, if any, you should take.
- Step 1: Open Peachtree. If you have more than one company, we suggest you check them all.
- Step 2: In the Help menu, select "Customer Support and Service."
- Step 3: Select "File Statistics."
- Step 4: Scroll to the bottom of the page to see the total database size.
Centralize Your Business Operations
You are familiar with Peachtree by Sage and all the benefits it can provide for your business, but in today?s environment you need more? more efficiency and the ability to streamline all your business functions into one collaborative solution. Peachtree Quantum 2010 offers features to help you change the way you currently run your business, such as:
It takes less time to find information in Peachtree than it does in last year's edition, and the use of lists is vastly better. The Customers & Sales, Vendors & Purchases, and other modules, for instance, display scrollable customer lists that would have taken several mouse clicks to find in Older Versions. With Peachtree , you click the View Detailed List link in the upper-right corner, and a complete list of records (for example, Employees) pops up in a separate window. Searches are easier too, thanks to a handy search box near the top of the screen.
Peachtree offers better integration with Microsoft Excel, although QuickBooks still has the edge in this area. You can now export reports to Excel that retain their Peachtree layout, specific formulas, autofiltering, and other features. Peachtree also synchronizes your contacts with Microsoft Outlook. What's missing is a wizard for importing data directly from Excel, which QuickBooks offers. Then again, Peachtree tops QuickBooks at . For instance, it does a better job of presenting reports of fast-selling and slow-selling items. We also like the Internal Accounting Review to help avoid trouble with the IRS at tax time , and the ability to lock prior reporting periods.
With its dramatically improved interface and navigational tools, Peachtree Accounting is a fine upgrade for longtime users. The Business Status Center may be too busy for some tastes, but you can easily customize it by removing a table or a graph. However, while we welcome the changes to Peachtree , they're not stunning enough to merit the time-consuming process of migrating from a rival program. For example, if you're a devotee of QuickBooks, which recently underwent a significant overhaul, we recommend that you stick with that program.
